Katie Holmes, Jamie Foxx Not Interested In Marriage; Couple Focused On Friendship

After years of denying a romance, Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes seemingly confirmed their relationship earlier this month, and now it looks like the stars are focused on strengthening their bond.

Although the couple has been rumored to have been dating for over four years, sources close to the duo now say that the romance actually began a few months ago. “They’ve been friends for years,” a friend of Foxx told People.

“That blossomed into a wonderful relationship that they both enjoy,” the insider added.

While sources insist Foxx and Holmes are enjoying one another’s company, a pal close to the actress said that the two aren’t as serious as people may think. “They remain friends and while Katie is in Los Angeles, she is happy to spend time with him, as well as many other friends.”

Meanwhile, sources close to Foxx believe that the two are taking things slow with no mention of anything serious like marriage. “Neither seems to be in a rush to take it further,” the friend told the publication.

Earlier in the month, the two were spotted holding hands at a beach in Malibu, California. While there, the pair walked in the sand and ran into the water, enjoying the day.

Although they may not be preparing to ride off into the sunset just yet, Holmes and Foxx do enjoy spending time together and prefer to keep their romance low-key. “They usually stay in,” a source close to the two said.

“Katie often picks up groceries and Jamie brings over dessert,” an insider revealed. In August, the “Baby Driver” actor was seen at a frozen yogurt shop in California where he picked up some sweets. He was later spotted entering Holmes’ gated community where she lives with her 11-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise.

“Jamie is very fond of Katie,” said the Foxx source. “They are both very happy.”

In May, the actress flew to Paris to visit her boyfriend, who was filming his upcoming movie “Robin Hood.” Although the two did their best not to attract attention, they were spotted boarding the same private jet.

At the time, a source told Us Weekly that they two were in love and that the actress would gush over her beau while talking to friends. “She’s head over heels for him,” the insider said.

In 2015, a source told People even though the stars were fond of each other, they had no plans on taking a huge leap in their relationship. “This is not some intense romance,” the insider explained.

“Jamie and Katie are friends and have been for a long time. They are two adults who are attractive and single, and so apparently conclusions will be drawn … But contrary to those conclusions, they’re not about to run off and make some serious commitment,” the source added.

Foxx and Holmes were first romantically linked together in 2013, after they were seen dancing while attending a charity event in the Hamptons. The actress’ relationship with Foxx marks her first serious romance since divorcing Tom Cruise in 2012.
