Katy Perry Super Bowl Performance: Did the Singer Use A Wii Remote Strap During Her Halftime Show?

On Sunday, musical artist Katy Perry, 30, wowed television viewers and Super Bowl attendees with a 12-minute performance that included appearances by Lenny Kravitz and rapper Missy Elliot. However, it was her final rendition of popular hit “Firework” that really got social media talking when the “Dark Horse” singer launched into the uplifting ballad using a glitter-encrusted microphone attached to her wrist with what appeared to be a Wii remote strap. A number of users on Twitter agreed, and a tweetstorm ensued:
Katy Perry I feel like you should concentrate on your show and not on playing the wii right now... pic.twitter.com/9HelLbds6t

It makes sense. Perry sang "Firework" on a moving platform and clearly didn't want to drop her microphone. Guess she found a new use for the strap -- we usually use it to stop us from throwing the device against the wall when we lose in "Mario Kart 8."
