American singer and actress Katy Perry made her first big public appearance after signing her divorce papers.

Perry on Friday attended the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute. She look stunning in a pale pink satin gown along with a giant matching fascinator.

On Wednesday, Superior Court Judge Marc Marmaro agreed to grant Katy and ex-husband Russell Brand divorce after they informed the court that they have reached a settlement over all issues in the case.

The divorce was finalised on Friday although the pair won't be legally split up until July as California law requires couples to wait for six month before the divorce becomes official.

The fourteen-month marriage of the couple ended when Brand filed for divorce from Perry on Dec 30 2011 in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to the Daily Mail, Katy's stunning appearance following the signing of the divorce papers was something which indicates that a person is back in the market.

The 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year event attended by the singer was meant to honor ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney for his singular creative accomplishments as well as his charitable work, which included an extraordinary range of philanthropic activities over the years.
