- Reeves and Alex Winter played coy when asked about a possible "Ted & Bill 4"
Keanu Reeves is back on the set of "Matrix 4" to continue filming after production was stopped in March due to the pandemic. The actor is grateful to have the chance to portray the role again after almost two decades.
Reeves revealed to Entertainment Tonight that production on "Matrix 4" has already resumed and the shoot is going "great." He also felt privileged to be once again part of the film.
"It's really an honor and a privilege to be working on this story. Lana Wachowski, the writer and director, has created something very special," Reeves told ET.
"I'm really grateful to be here, to be playing the role and having a chance to make a really awesome film."
Reeves starred in the first "The Matrix" movie in 1999. It was a huge success and spawned two more sequels "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions," which were both released in 2003. This means it has already been over a decade and a half since his last "Matrix" movie.
In the same interview, ET and Reeves visited the set of "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" with his former co-star Alex Winter and what the duo said about the possibility of "Bill & Ted 3."
"Who knows? All the studios we seem to get involved with crumble," a much younger Reeves said in the clip showed to the actors during their set visit.
"I think if it ever gets to three, there probably won't be Hollywood left and there won't be any distribution companies left to distribute the movie."
After watching the video, Reeves commented, "They're full of life."
"The funny thing is, you know, we had a lot of fun, we love working with each other, but we did not think about making a third one. We really didn't think all these years until the guys pitched us a really great idea," Winter added.
"Bill & Ted Face the Music" won't have a traditional release. It was supposed to come out in theaters but its fate was left uncertain due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Well, look. It was supposed to come out in August in theaters all over the world. We’re trying to figure out what’s going on now, because as you and I discussed, is there a movie business when a theater can only be one third full?” said Steven Soderbergh, who was part of the film’s production.
When the duo was asked about a possible "Ted & Bill 4," both played coy.
"If we're lucky," Reeves said.
"It's up to the fans!" Winter chimed in.
