  • Reeves said he wanted to play Wolverine or Batman in MCU
  • Fans have mixed reactions about Reeves as Wolverine

Keanu Reeves wants to play Wolverine and he gets what he wants in a new fan art.

In a 2018 interview with Screen Geek, Reeves was asked if he really wanted to play “Wolverine” and “Batman” but just couldn't take the roles. The actor made it clear that he couldn’t take it because “it was cast.”

When the roles were opened following Hugh Jackman’s announcement that he would not reprise his iconic role as Wolverine after “Logan” and Ben Affleck not doing more “Batman” films, Reeves was asked again about the roles.

“Of the two, I’d love to play Wolverine,” Reeves said.

An artist named Pablo Ruiz has since shared a fan art on Instagram which shows how Reeves would look like as the new Wolverine.

“Keanu Reeves as Wolverine,” Pablo wrote in the caption.

“I have long wanted to see Keanu Reeves as Wolverine, so I decided to do it. Many would not like the idea of someone replacing Hugh Jackman but we will have to get used to it if we want to see Wolverine on the big screen again if he does not reprise the character. ”

The art received mixed reactions from other netizens.

“This looks good but he is not my first choice. I almost think an unknown would work best after Jackman,” one wrote.

“He’s too tall Logan 5’5,” another added.

“No no no no Keanu has to be silver surfer and only silver surfer,” another added.

Twitter users have also been talking about Reeves’ possibility of playing Wolverine in the past years. Many also find him a good candidate to be the next Logan.

“Yessss please,” one commented.

“he’s too cool for wolverine”@_Rsydn_ added.

“I was going to say that he's too tall but, the internet just told be that Hugh Jackman is taller then him,” @J8mmyham opined.

However, some believed that there's another better role for Reeves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than Wolverine.

“Yeeeesh I love Keanu but he's no Wolverine,” @DrK_PhD commented.

“Love Keanu but, I can see him fitting Mr. Sinister over wolverine,” @rickums29 added.

“I'd like to see him as Silver Surfer speaking in Bill & Ted vernacular,” Glen Hannah wrote.

Despite all the buzz, neither Reeves nor Marvel have commented on the issue. We'll have to wait and see if "The Matrix" guy will actually be making his Marvel debut.
