KEY POINTS

  • Kehlani said she was allegedly sexually assaulted during her concert in Manchester on Monday via Instagram
  • She claimed that an audience member touched her genitals while she was being escorted out of the crowd
  • The singer gave fans an update days after, clarifying that she was "good"

R&B artist Kehlani claimed she was sexually assaulted during her O2 Victoria Warehouse concert in Manchester, England, on Monday night.

Following the incident, the 27-year-old "Honey" singer took to an Instagram Story to share the traumatizing experience and claimed that an audience member pulled her underwear and touched her genitals while she was being escorted out of the crowd after her performance, according to a screenshot of the since-deleted post obtained by HipHopDx.

"I've made video after video after video and deleted it because I don't want any video of me as angry, triggered, crying upset as I am anywhere," Kehlani wrote.

She continued, "I don't care how sexual you deem my music, my performances, my fun with my friends dancing at clubs, or ME.... that does not give any of you the right to cross a boundary like sticking your hands up my skirt & pulling my underwear to TOUCH TO MY GENITALS as I am being escorted through a crowd after performing."

"This s—t made me sick to my stomach. As a victim of sexual assault, I am endlessly triggered and mind-blown," she concluded.

Kehlani's manager, David Ali, posted videos of the singer's concert, which was the last leg of the "Blue Water Road Trip" European tour, on his Instagram Story, as well as videos of Kehlani's performance at an after-party at The Printworks, an urban entertainment venue located at Manchester city center. But it's still unclear when and where the alleged sexual assault happened, HipHopDx reported.

On Wednesday, the Grammy-nominated musician gave fans an update regarding the incident on TikTok and expressed her gratitude towards fans who have reached out and showed support.

"Hey, guys. I just wanted to come on here and say thank you to everybody who has checked in on me or supported me in any way during the last couple of days," she said. "I'm home, I'm good with [the] family."

Kehlani— born Kehlani Ashley Parrish— explained that she did not share what happened for "any sort of press" but because she wanted to "set a boundary" for her audiences, fan base, and viewers who go to the concert to watch her perform.

"I set that boundary so that you guys could know how to please just respect me as a human, me as an individual," she added before thanking "those who care" and clarifying that she was all good.

After the now-deleted Instagram Story circulated online, it sparked outrage among the singer's fans, claiming that the situation was "completely disgusting" and that "no one deserves to be treated" that way.

"Kehlani is nothing but the sweetest angel to walk on this earth [and] the fact some of you have absolutely no respect for her is just disgusting," one social media user wrote on Twitter.

Another commented, "These celebrities need to start knocking some of [you all the f—k] out since some of you can't understand boundaries and dehumanizing them. They're human just like the rest of us, they shouldn't be violated and degraded like that! Sending Kehlani all my love [right now]."

"It takes a special piece of s—t to do something like this. Get a f—king grip [on] reality, she is a human being, not your little sexual object that you feel entitled to. Sexual assault is not and will never be okay. My heart goes out to Kehlani [so much hate]," a third user wrote.

Kehlani has been a vocal supporter of sexually assaulted victims and was never afraid to speak out about such issues on social media, including "Superfly" actor Kaalan "KR" Walker's 50-year sentence after he was found guilty of raping multiple women he met on social media, Page Six reported.

"50 years to life," the singer wrote on her Instagram Story at the time, according to the outlet. "I am so f–king happy for everyone not giving up! Love to the ladies on this case ya'll deserve it all!"
