Kelly Clarkson Celebrated Divorce Prenup Win Against Brandon Blackstock With ‘The Voice’ Judges

Kelly Clarkson had a mini celebration on the set of the NBC singing competition “The Voice” on Wednesday when she learned about a major win in her divorce proceedings against her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock.

Sources told TMZ that Clarkson was on set and let out a scream when she received an email from her lawyer informing her that the judge validated her prenup in her divorce from Blackstock.

After letting out the screech, Clarkson reportedly began celebrating with her fellow “The Voice” judges, including Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande.

The prenup in place separates all of the former couple’s assets and income gained during the marriage. After Clarkson filed for divorce in June, Blackstock contested the prenup and wanted to split the income she made during their marriage and all of the properties.

The “American Idol” alum initially wanted to sell their Montana ranch, which Blackstock moved into with plans to start a career as a rodeo manager, because it was a “financial burden.”

At the time, the court denied Clarkson’s request to sell the property, which costs $81,000 per month to maintain, according to court documents filed last week.

“The evidence in this case shows that after the date of Separation, Respondent made a very deliberate choice to change his life and become a rancher full-time,” the judge wrote in the ruling.

“He testified that he is not devoting any effort toward expanding his client list and music management business. … Respondent has made a very deliberate choice, that he testified he planned for a long time, to significantly change his lifestyle from primarily working in the music and entertainment industry to working in an agriculture community and lifestyle involved in full-time ranch and cattle work.”

Following the judge’s latest decision, Clarkson will be able to sell the Montana ranch since she purchased the home.

The “Stronger” singer has also been awarded temporary primary custody of her and Blackstock’s two children, River and Remington. Clarkson’s divorce is expected to be finalized within the next few days.
