Kelly Clarkson gets much need popularity boost with Greatest Hits performance on 'Ellen' ahead of her album release
Singer and the first ever American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, has succeeded in garnering a much-needed popularity boost ahead of her new album release in September - all thanks to her impressive performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Kelly performed live on 'Ellen' at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday. Her Greatest Hits track line-up included 'Miss Independent,' 'Walk Away,' and 'Since U Been Gone.'
Ahead of the show, Kelly wrote on Facebook, Performing on Ellen today with the band. It's not airing today. We're just taping it here in Orlando! I'm so excited to perform :) I miss touring ....like a lot.
After enjoying the day at the Universal Studios, the 28-year-old singer came back to share on the social networking site, We spent all day yesterday at Universal Studios in Orlando and had the time of our lives! Loved the rides, LOVED all the Harry Potter stuff (especially butterbeer:), loved being on the Ellen show, and our guides were fantastic! Seriously, can't wait to go back!
Contrary to the earlier indications that Kelly Clarkson's new album was slated for release in July, news emerged recently that the release date has been pushed back to September. At the time, Rodney Jerkins, Kelly's producer, reiterated his support for the September against the spring date as a smart decision.
Jerkins, a top music producer, who is also featured every week on American Idol working with the contestants, told Hollywood Reporter that moving the album's release was a smart decision, because a new CEO is coming on board Kelly's record label in July.
The producer was quoted as saying, It's better to wait, get cool with him, understand what he wants to do and all that.
Jerkins also expressed confidence in the crazy pop-rock song he produced for Kelly, called 'I Forgive You.'
With five more months to go for her album to hit the stores, the singer has managed to awe her fading line fans into listening with the 'Ellen' performance.
Kelly released her fourth studio album, 'All I Ever Wanted', in March 2009. The album was produced by Howard Benson, Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Ryan Tedder, Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello.
The original American Idol's debut album 'Thankful' sold over three million albums worldwide and her follow-up, Breakaway, scanning an unprecedented 10 million albums worldwide. Kelly has enjoyed nine Billboard Hot 100 singles including 'A Moment Like This', 'Because of You', 'Breakaway' and the #1 smash hit 'Since U Been Gone'. 16 tracks including the single 'My Life Would Suck Without You', according to KellyClarkson.com.
