Kelly Clarkson Shares What Fans Can Expect On Her Upcoming Album's Cover
Kelly Clarkson proudly is proud that she is doing something new for her upcoming album.
The "Since U Been Gone" singer, during an Instagram Live session on her "The Kelly Clarkson Show" page, revealed she opted to deviate from using photoshopped images on the new album's cover.
"I have an album coming out this year. I swear, I know I've been talking about it, but look, I'm being completely honest with you," she told her followers.
"It took a minute for me to be able to release this album because I had to get past it in order to talk about it," the "Breakaway" singer continued.
Clarkson shared that the photoshoot for the album's cover was different and it made her feel "free."
"I do whatever it takes to get out of a shoot — it's not my happy place. It felt like me. I was able to be free and be myself," she said. "You're gonna want it on a vinyl just for the picture alone... that's incredible and that's not photoshopped."
The 40-year-old singer first spoke about her new album in an interview with Variety in September.
"I'm working on my album this week. It's coming out next year. And this is an important album," Clarkson said. "I'm working on this in therapy — I have a hard time vocalizing what I'm feeling sometimes, so music is helpful for me. It's just been really healing. I recorded the record quite some time ago."
Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock in 2013 but she filed for divorce in June 2020 citing irreconcilable differences.
"When my ex and I first separated, there were many emotions. It was hard," Clarkson told Variety. "My producer and I were laughing yesterday because I was like, 'Remember that time we wrote, like, 25 songs in a week?' A lot of those are the ones that are on the album."
Also during her Instagram Live, Clarkson gave her fun 2023 predictions and revealed that among her most admired artists, she would love to do a collaboration with Indie pop band Lucius this year.
