Kelly Clarkson Sings 'Rousing' National Anthem at Super Bowl 2012 [VIDEO]

Kelly Clarkson sang the National Anthem before Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, and the singer proved that if she couldn't give an unforgettable performance, she could at least give a rousing one.

Kelly Clarkson has performed The Star-Spangled Banner before, at the 2011 NBA Finals, so she had experience on her side.

Not so for last year's performer Christina Aguilera. Aguilera made headlines at Super Bowl XLV by forgetting some of the words before the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.

Clarkson doesn't quite have the vocal power Aguilera can deliver, but the American Idol graduate knows her lines, and exactly how to play them. She hit some of the hardest notes beautifully, and her performance was aided by a great backup chorus and some impressive military drumming.
