  • Conway is in talks to write a book about Trump
  • The former Trump aide expects to receive a "sizable advance" from major publishers
  • Pence and Pompeo are also working out lucrative book deals

A top aide to former President Donald Trump is reportedly in talks to write a book about her time serving in the Trump administration.

Kellyanne Conway, a former senior counselor to Trump and one of his most loyal advisers, is working out a potential book deal with major publishers, which includes a “sizable advance,” a person involved with the discussions told The New York Times.

A veteran Republican pollster, Conway served as Trump’s campaign manager during his 2016 presidential bid. In 2018, she was accused by colleagues in the White House of leaking valuable information to the press.

"One day, Abby, I will have my say. So that will be very, very fascinating," Conway said in response to the allegations. “You know, we learned a long time ago around here, the people who say ‘enemy of the people, opposition party, fake news, biased media,’ they can talk to the media all day long because nobody would suspect them.” The Abby she referred to is Fox News reporter Abby Huntsman.

Conway isn’t the only one reportedly working out a lucrative book deal. Former Vice President Mike Pence and former CIA Director Mike Pompeo are also in discussions for potential deals that come with sizable advances.

In early January, Conway expressed her support for Trump following the Jan. 6 deadly riot at the Capitol, even as other Republicans said Trump was to blame.

“The thugs from yesterday are responsible for their own actions. They don't represent the millions of Trump voters, or the massive 'MAGA' movement; they insult them,” Conway wrote in a statement.

"Importantly, President Trump has denounced the violence, acknowledged the certified election results and committed to a 'peaceful transfer of power' to the Biden-Harris Administration. He is the founder of a movement, leader of a party, and a President whose words persuade millions of people,” she added.

Conway left her administration post in August amid differing views between her and her husband concerning Trump. Conway’s husband, George Conway, a conservative attorney and co-founder of the Lincoln Project, has advocated against Trump, calling the former president a “sociopath.” Despite that, Conway remains publicly loyal to Trump.
