Kendall Jenner Responds To Claims She Wore 'Inappropriate' Dress To Friend's Wedding

Kendall Jenner has her best friend Lauren Perez's support amid the backlash the model faced for sporting a racy black cutout dress to her pal's wedding last year.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum wore a revealing black Mônot dress with slits of fabric covering sections of her abdomen and chest for Perez's Miami wedding in November 2021. The cutouts narrowed in the middle, creating a triangular effect.

On New Year's Eve, Perez commemorated her nuptials by posting several photos from the event on Instagram, calling it the "greatest night of 2021." Some of the snaps featured Jenner rocking the dress, which drew criticism for the 26-year-old model.

Some social media users accused Jenner of upstaging the bride, with one commenter writing: "Inappropriate outfit at wedding @kendalljenner I'm embarrassed for you. #cringe."

"[It's] so disrespectful [of her] to wear this. In every photo, you see her, not the bride," another person wrote, while a third user said, "How to upstage the bride 101."

One fan defended Jenner, writing, "If the bride herself doesn't [gjve a f---], why do you care? Relax." The reply prompted responses from Perez and Jenner.

"Tell 'em! SHE LOOKED STUNNING AND I LOVED IT!" Perez wrote in the screenshot obtained by People.

Jenner, meanwhile, stated that she "[obviously] asked" her best friend "for approval in advance too."

"We love a beach wedding," Jenner added.

Jenner also previously turned heads at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in September 2021 when she wore a revealing outfit.

She donned a sheer crystal-embellished Givenchy Haute Couture gown over a corset bodysuit. She paired the look with a sparkling high-neck choker and retro updo.

Jenner's Met Gala look was a nod to Audrey Hepburn's iconic Givenchy gown in the ball scene in "My Fair Lady."

The model posted a clip from the iconic film and a black-and-white photo of Hepburn wearing the crystal-embellished dress on her Instagram Story before she graced the red carpet.
