‘Kendra On Top’ Star Kendra Wilkinson Teases Restored Hope For Relationship With Her Mom In Season 6
Kendra Wilkinson’s back for a brand new season of “Kendra On Top.” Armed with a unique set of tools thanks to the therapists on “Family Boot Camp,” she’s got a new outlook on her relationship with mom Patti Wilkinson — but will her dreams of being an author crush Kendra’s hopes?
Speaking with International Business Times ahead of the Season 6 premiere of “Kendra On Top,” Kendra, 32, warns fans to brace for change. The show picks up right after the “Family Boot Camp” finale. Kendra’s preparing to return home to her husband and kids and get to work on her relationship with her mom off camera.

After spending several weeks stuck in a house together, the pair have reached previously uncharted territory. Kendra’s removed the boards and opened the door to her heart, ready to give her mom another chance after previous disappointment and betrayal. She credits the therapists on “Family Boot Camp” with changing her mind and allowing her to do that.
“I never thought I’d see my mom again,” she said, adding that the therapists “really helped” them. “She has her dreams. I have what I want. My dream is to have my mother back. She wants her family back. She wants her grandkids.”
Also high on Patti’s list of life goals is becoming an author, which “Kendra On Top” viewers will learn more about during the Season 6 premiere. Kendra says that while she was ready to start anew with her mother, her dreams of writing a tell-all book served as a substantial block in their relationship. What’s more, it was creating tension elsewhere, as she was forced to share the upsetting news with her husband.
Before Kendra opened up to hubby Hank Baskett, she had to get him to the same good place she’s in with her mother. Doing so would prove difficult, as the episode will show. Kendra told IBTimes her mother hadn’t only hurt her in the past, she did a lot of damage to Hank and her best friend Jessica Hall.
“I needed my husband to feel the feeling of hope I [had]. If I were to leave ‘Family Boot Camp’ and the first thing out of my mouth was, ‘Oh, my mother’s writing a book,’ that doesn’t help,” she said. “I didn’t expect him to just forgive her because my mom has done a lot of damage to him and said things to try and split us up.”
Additionally, Kendra feared the book would strain her relationship with her father, Eric Wilkinson. The pair reconnected, and the last thing she wanted was her mother taking a shot at him in her tell-all, sending him running for the hills. She said that while he and her mom have their own issues, he doesn’t deserve the negative press the book may cause.
“She might think [my dad] deserves that because of the things he’s done to her but to me, as his daughter, I want to protect him as much as I can,” she said. “The last thing I want is for him to feel any kind of pain from my mom seeking some kind of revenge. Revenge doesn’t solve anything.”

In an effort to derail book plans, Kendra offered Patti some hefty financial compensation. She revealed that she was ready to write a check for the same price as her mom’s book deal if she agreed not to write it. The deal, while seemingly great, was a no go.
“It’s the idea [of writing a book],” Kendra said. “I even said if she was interested in the money I’d cut her a check. The same amount of money as if she were to get that book.”
Will Patti follow through, accepting a major book deal to share stories about Kendra, Kank, their children and more? Tune in to “Kendra On Top” Fridays at 10:30 p.m. EDT on We TV.
