A Kentucky man who confessed to his family members about killing a woman was arrested after a duct-taped body was found inside his pickup truck.

Denny Rumfelt, 29, arrived at his Vine Grove residence just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday and told his brother and parents that he murdered a woman, WDRB-TV reported. His family members reportedly informed police after the confession.

Rumfelt allegedly told his family that the body was "wrapped up in a carpet and has tape around it." Deputies with the Meade County Sheriff’s Office responded to the house and found the corpse in a sleeping bag. The body's mouth and eyes were duct-taped. After the body was found, Rumfelt walked out of the house and surrendered, the outlet reported.

Officers served a warrant to search Rumfelt's car, a green 1997 GMC Sierra pickup truck, and discovered a plastic bag wrapped in gray duct tape, WDRB-TV reported, citing court records. Officers removed the plastic bag from the car and placed it on a piece of plexiglass before the coroner arrived and inspected the body.

During an interview later that evening, deputies said Rumfelt had bloodstains on his clothes and cuts on his ears. He also had multiple bruises in both of his arms, one of which reportedly required four stitches, according to the News Enterprise.

Rumfelt also used duct tape of the same color found in the body to secure a bandage on his lower left forearm, the publication reported, citing the arrest report.

Police haven't yet revealed how the woman was killed. Rumfelt was charged with murder, domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse, Law and Crime reported, citing online records.

In February last year, an Indiana man walked into a police station and confessed to killing his girlfriend. Connor Warren Scott, 24, told deputies that he shot his girlfriend, Kaylyn Whitaker, 20, at his home in Illinois in 2014. Whitaker's death was initially ruled a suicide but later ruled a homicide after her body wasn't found. Scott was charged with first-degree murder.
