Kermit & Jason Segel Beg Amy Adams to Join 'Muppets' Movie
Deadline released an exclusive video Wednesday of writer, producer and star Jason Segel and Kermit The Frog inviting Amy Adams to join the cast of the new The Muppets movie set for release on Nov. 23.
The video, which can be seen here, begins with Segel serenading Amy Adams in an attempt to get her to join the cast as Mary, Segel's love interest and the female lead. Kermit The Frog chimes in and they both express how perfect she would be for the film.
Adams told Film on set that, [The Muppets] is something I grew up with and was in love with. When I heard they were doing a new one I was really excited. Jason sent me a DVD where he and Kermit were inviting me to be part of The Muppets. It was really cool. Once Kermit asks you to do something it is really hard to look at him and say, No. So I was hooked.
The Muppets, in theaters for Thanksgiving weekend, follows the classic crew, including Kermit and Miss Piggy, their new friend, Walter, the Moopets, Jason Segel and Amy Adams. The Muppets, who are told no one knows them anymore, set out on an adventure to regain fame.
