Kevin Costner to Speak at Whitney Houston's Funeral, Sent Flowers to Bobbi Kristina Brown
Kevin Costner plans to speak at Whitney Houston's funeral. He previously sent Bobbi Kristina Brown flowers after hearing that Houston--his Bodyguard co-star and Brown's mother--had died.
Kevin Costner is set to speak at Whitney Houston's funeral at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., on Saturday, according to a new report by People magazine that cites a family source.
The two starred together in the 1992 smash movie The Bodyguard, Whitney Houston's breakout film debut. The soundtrack was one of the most successful in history. Featuring her hit I Will Always Love You, the album sold more than 17 million copies in the United States, and millions more around the world.
According to the site OMG! Canada Costner sent flowers to Houston's only daughter, 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown, within hours of her mother's tragic death Saturday at the age of 48. Brown has been very broken up about her mother's death in the days since she was found dead in a hotel room at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Costner's manager told OMG! Canada that the actor holds Whitney in very high esteem and that he will not be releasing a public statement about her death.
Whitney Houston was pronounced dead on Saturday at 3:55 p.m. PST. The newest news reports state that the singer died of a combination of drugs and alcohol. Initially, her cause of death was rumored to be drowning. However, there was reportedly not enough water in her hotel room tub for the singer to drown.
A toxicology report and official autopsy may not be available for the next six to eight weeks. Houston's last meal included champagne and Heineken. Empty medicine bottles were found in her hotel room, along with pills like Xanax and ibuprofen
