Keyshia Cole Addresses Beyoncé 'Bow Down' Diss: 'That's Just Not What I Know Of Her' [VIDEO]
Keyshia Cole is addressing rumors that she and Beyoncé have a beef, a year after she slammed the fellow singer’s song, “Bow Down,” on Twitter. A snippet of the song was released last March, in anticipation of what would go on to become a top-selling album by Beyoncé, breaking the U.S. first week album sales record on iTunes.
Cole quickly faced backlash from Beyoncé’s fans after making negative comments, and on The Breakfast Club Morning Show on Thursday she addressed her criticism of the song, saying, “I love Beyonce. Well, the thing is I met Beyoncé a few times, and she’s a sweet girl. I just felt like that [song] wasn’t her thing. Like dude said, she switched it up or something. That’s just not what I know of her.”
Lyrics to the song include, “I know when you were little girls you dreamt of being in my world/Don’t forget it, don’t forget it/Respect that, bow down, b--ches.” Cole sent out a series of tweets against Beyoncé after the snippet was released last year, such as, “Can't stand when people all self righteous when it's convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk sh-- when convenient 2 FOH.” She also wrote, “First ‘Women need to Stick together’ now b--ches better Bow. Smh. But it's all G! Chicks stay shooting the sh--. .."
This is not the first time Cole has dissed a former Destiny’s Child member. In 2013, she also mocked Michelle Williams during their reunion at the Super Bowl halftime show.
