A woman in Pinellas County, Florida, has been charged for striking a 16-year-old fast food restaurant employee last week because she was displeased with the establishment's drive-through service, police documents showed.

Alexandra Maldonado was arrested Friday afternoon after she was caught on camera smacking an unnamed teenager working behind the drive-through window of a KFC location near the suspect's home in St. Petersburg, Florida, the Smoking Gun reported, citing arrest affidavits.

The 23-year-old woman walked up to the open window and hit the victim on the left side of her neck with her left hand because she was "unhappy with the service at the KFC drive-through window," police said.

The strike left "a visible red mark, 1 inch by 4 inches in size," on the teenage employee, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident on video. Maldonado, who works at a Metro PCS store, was later pulled over by police and arrested, according to the report.

Maldonado admitted to the offense following her arrest. The victim also confirmed to police that the woman was indeed the person who struck her, according to the criminal complaint. The two did not personally know each other.

Maldonado was charged with child abuse for the attack, according to an affidavit. She was also charged with a count of burglary for "entering" the KFC store when only the drive-through of the establishment was open at the time and the rest of the store was closed to the public.

Maldonado was released from the county jail Saturday morning after posting $15,000 bond.

A similar incident happened at a Burger King in Memphis, Tennessee, earlier this year when a woman was caught on camera firing her handgun at the restaurant's drive-through employees over the service's wait time.

The woman and the two employees of the Winchester Road fast-food restaurant had gotten into a verbal altercation on March 30 after the female customer complained about her order's wait time.

Video surveillance of the encounter showed the woman retrieving a black handgun from her vehicle and leaning into the open drive-through window before firing several shots at the workers.

Neither of the employees were hit by the bullets.

Memphis police later arrested the woman following the incident.
