KEY POINTS
- Fast food restaurant chain KFC announced that it has a new gaming console

- It also has a chicken chamber to cook chicken
KFC has announced that it is releasing a brand new video game console that offers a few specs comparable to other gaming consoles, and the ability to cook chicken at the same time.
KFC is coming after big names in video game consoles Sony and Microsoft with its brand new gaming machine called the KFConsole. The fast food restaurant known for its fried chicken made the announcement via a video posted in Twitter, showing what the new device can do.
The tweet was captioned “The future of gaming is here.” It had a video that showed the KFConsole as a machine that looks like a real gaming console, complete with a power button, a disc drive, and cool looking red lights apt for a video game machine from the fried chicken company.
According to the video, the KFConsole offers “cross-platform compatibility,” “True 4K” and ”120 FPS.” While these terms are indeed normally found in video game console descriptions, one thing stands out from all others: it has a “chicken chamber” complete with red lights resembling an oven.
CNet noted that while the “game console” shown in the video looks like a real gaming machine, the video itself appears to be a a joke meant to troll both Sony and Microsoft – gaming behemoths that have announced their respective consoles in recent times.
This is not the first time KFC showed an interest in video gaming. It's worth noting that the video was posted by the KFC Gaming Twitter account, which has more than 128,000 followers. The company, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, also released a dating sim last year, titled “I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator.”
While the video was funny, it did provide an interesting detail that fans should definitely watch out for: “11.12.20.” This could indicate that KFC has something big in store for all gamer and non-gamer fans, and will reveal it on Nov. 12 this year.
It is possible that KFC will indeed release a machine that looks like the one in the video, but as of now that remains unclear. It is possible that company could simply release a follow-up joke on that day.
