KEY POINTS

  • Khamzat Chimaev's star has risen to great heights since joining the UFC in 2020
  • "Nobody wants to fight," he claims in his latest YouTube blog
  • Chimaev remains undefeated in 12 fights

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the hottest talents that the UFC currently has under its belt, and the Chechnyan-born fighter is raring to fight once again.

However, it appears that no one wants to step inside the cage with him.

In his latest YouTube blog, Chimaev revealed that fights have been offered to him in recent months, but no one is willing to do so.

"Nobody wants to fight. [expletive] these boys. They gave me four different countries, four different opponents. Nobody wants to fight," Chimaev stated.

"I'm gonna fight somebody, I don't know who. They change opponents all the time. Every week I have new opponent, but nobody wants to fight. These guys speak a lot of trash talk and a lot of [expletive] about me. But when it comes to the fight and signing a contract, they want to run away. I'm always ready. We'll see what's gonna happen."

A 12-fight MMA veteran himself, Chimaev burst onto the UFC welterweight scene with his two-fight performance in July 2020 that featured finishes over John Phillips and Rhys McKee which happened over a 10-day span.

The win over McKee broke the UFC record for the quickest turnaround between UFC wins in the modern era and had fans taking note of the former BRAVE CF competitor.

His most noteworthy performance was against Gerald Meerschaert in his promotional debut, claiming the victory with a one-punch knockout in just 17 seconds.

The hype train continued to roll on for Chimaev after submitting Li Jingliang in one round in October 2021 and pushing Gilbert Burns to his absolute limit for a decision victory this past April

But in the eyes of fans, his most recent fight against Kevin Holland at UFC 279 in September was his best performance yet.

"Borz" did not allow Holland to get any breathing space as soon as the opening bell rang and threw around the UFC veteran with ease thanks to his superior wrestling skills before ultimately forcing the American to tap out in the very first frame.

No other fighter comes close to the amount of hoopla that the undefeated No. 3-ranked welterweight has built for himself in the past two years and admitted in the vlog that he is tired of waiting around.

Chimaev is even willing to take a fight in the middleweight division just to satiate his hunger while also taking aim at UFC middleweight king Alex Pereira.

"[Pereira] has (a 7-1) record. He lost. I never lost in my life, and he lost against a [expletive] guy. The guy isn't in the UFC, as well... What am I going to do? I just want to fight. Give me somebody. If the guys run away from me, just give me somebody. I'm ready," he declared.
