Khloé Kardashian-Lamar Odom Update: James Harden’s Girlfriend Says Husband Has 'Issues'

“Keeping Up With the Kardashian” star Khloé Kardashian opened up about her relationship -- or lack thereof -- with her husband, ex-NBA star Lamar Odom, Monday night in an interview in L.A. The E! reality star dished about Odom to Entertainment Tonight while promoting her book, “Strong Looks Better Naked.”

While not discussing her relationship with him directly, Kardashian said Odom has other things aside from "intimacy" to worry about. "Even if he was 100 percent better, he has a lot of other issues he has to deal with, I think, before taking on any relationship," Kardashian said.

The couple signed divorce papers in July, nearly two years after Kardashian drafted the documents. Unbeknownst to the public, they remained married due to a technicality in the California courts. After Odom’s hospitalization they decided to remain married. It seems unlikely that being caught with prostitutes and drugs is what saved a marriage, but Kardashian said she understood why someone would turn to illegal drugs -- while leaving out the part about sex workers.

"When you are in pain and hurting elsewhere in life, you use certain substances to try to block out that pain. It’s really easy to do that and you think that's going to be your cure," Kardashian told ET. "[But] at the end of the day you have to address the problem at hand, because the alcohol or the drugs is not going to take that problem away."

She’s no stranger to masking pain, having at one time used alcohol as her substance of choice. Kardashian said it was her older sister, Kourtney, whole forced her to “take control of my life.”

Odom was found unconscious at a brothel outside of Las Vegas Oct. 13. He was hospitalized for a suspected overdose and given a 50-50 shot at survival. He had several strokes and had lost some of his motor skills, but the former Los Angeles star is recovering at Cedars Sinai. Kardashian has been by Odom’s side, but she continues to date Houston Rockets guard James Harden. The “KUWTK” star was pictured holding hands with her new beau during a date night Monday.
