Khytai Talks About Miguel Landing On Her Face At Billboard Awards: Fan Says She 'Adorns' Him

The Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night featured thrilling performances by top artists in the music industry from Nicki Minaj to Prince. While the night ended without many glitches, there certainly were shocking moments. One of the most notable is when artist Miguel jumped into the crowd during his segment and.mistakenly injured a fan.

While singing his hit song “Adorn,” Miguel did a move he likely had not anticipated doing, landing on a female fan's face with his crotch after jumping into the front row and into the open arms of the screaming audience.

After the incident, both he and the female, Khyati, ended up backstage with Bill Werde, Billboard’s editorial director. She was holding an ice pack but seemed to be fine and enthusiastic that she was backstage with the talented 27-year-old artist on one of the biggest music nights of the year.

"Well, I think it's kind of clear what happened," Miguel told Werde. "But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met. Unfortunately we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're okay." When asked what she thought of Miguel, Khytai replied, "I adore him,” referencing the song he had just performed.

Memes of the incident immediately went viral following the artist’s shocking move, and Miguel acknowledged that at times during a show, you cannot predict how it will turn out. "The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it and how that might turn out. So this is one of the less favorable moments."
