A new batch of talented culinary kids will be heading to the kitchen to prove that they are the best pint-sized baker on the 9th season of Food Network’s “Kid’s Baking Championship.”

The hit competition returns tonight for the 9th official season as they face difficult challenges, which, according to a press release, include making rainbow cupcakes, dessert imposters and more, with the added stress of their parents watching from backstage as they work to win a grand prize of $25,000 by impressing judges Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman.

Among the challenges include showing off their brushstroke decorating skills, making mini cheesecakes, garden cakes with actual ingredients from the garden, and creating a birthday cake for an adoptable four-legged friend in honor of Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl. They will also need to make a giant cookie face with 3D features that will need to reveal an assigned expression. In the end, the final bakers competing for the grand prize will need to give it their all if they want to be crowned as champion.
