Kim Kardashian Accidentally Gets Involved In Nicki Minaj-Taylor Swift Twitter Feud
Kim Kardashian West was happily going about her usual social media routine when she accidentally got involved in a Twitter feud between rapper Nicki Minaj and singer Taylor Swift. The two musicians were having an exchange after Minaj posted a flurry of rants about the MTV Video Music Awards Nominations, and Kardashian accidentally made a small reference to the now infamous Kanye West hijack on Swift’s VMA speech.
The nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced Tuesday, and Minaj received two nominations for the video of her single “Anaconda.” She got the nod for Best Female Video and Best Hip Hop Video, but it appears that she believes she should have been up for Video of the Year and Best Choreography as well.
While she showed appreciation for the recognition in the categories where she was nominated, she could not help but rant about the snubs. She went on a Twitter rant and said:
After speaking out about why she believes her video deserves more nominations, Minaj started to question the rationale behind the other nominations.
Swift, who is nominated for Video of the Year for her song “Bad Blood,” saw the tweet and responded to Minaj. Incidentally, Swift’s video features a group of her slim supermodel friends. Minaj then clarified that she wasn’t throwing any shade at Swift.
Swift further replied by inviting Minaj to join her on stage in case she wins the award. While this was going on, fans of both artists also started their own online debate.
When Kardashian went online to post photos from her Vogue Spain photo spread, she accidentally joined in the fray. She posted a photo of herself and captioned it: “Imma let you finish but...”
Her husband Kanye West famously said those words to Swift when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the VMAs in 2009. Kardashian was made aware of the situation due to numerous fan comments, she immediately rectified the situation by saying she was oblivious to what was going on and was not trying to get involved.
