Kim Kardashian Claims She Shoplifted With Nicole Richie

Kim Kardashian has long maintained that she’s never been much for partying, but the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star revealed in a new blog post on her website last week that she may have dabbled in the “five-finger discount” with another famous star. According to the 36-year-old KKW Beauty mogul, she once shoplifted a tube of lipstick with none other than Nicole Richie.

“When Nicole Richie and I were around 11, we went into a drugstore in Malibu and took lipstick,” Kardashian wrote on her subscription-based website Friday, according to People. “We thought we were so badass! I can’t remember the name of the color, but it was a brown shade from Revlon. I wasn’t much of a partier growing up, so this was about as rebellious as I got.”

The reality television starlets (Richie was once a co-star with Paris Hilton on E!'s "The Simple Life") have been friends from a young age. Appearing in recent years across the social media accounts of both Kardashian and her family, 35-year-old Richie also attended Kardashian’s baby shower in 2013, according to the Huffington Post.

More recently, Richie was tagged in Kardashian’s Instagram of a throwback photo from when the two were 13 years old — not too many years after their alleged lipstick heist. Kardashian captioned the image, shared in 2014, “[Nicole Richie] and I being oh so cool at 13 years old.”

A representative for Revlon did not immediately respond to International Business Times’ request for comment.

While certainly a highlight, Kardashian’s retelling of her juvenile thievery wasn’t the only thing she shared with her fans on her blog last week. In the same blog, Kardashian opened up about her decision to create KKW Beauty. The star named her eponymous beauty line as a “natural evolution” to something she’s “always been really interested in.”

“I’ve always been really interested in beauty,” Kardashian wrote. “It definitely began with my mom and MJ — they always took such amazing care of their skin and wanted to look their best. For me, creating KKW Beauty was a natural evolution — makeup has been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl.”

Kardashian also wrote about her first makeup memory, which she said included her older sister.

“My first memory with makeup was when Kourtney and I would get into all of my mom’s makeup,” she wrote. “We would try everything, but we were so obsessed with concealer and foundation for some reason. We would put it everywhere — literally, all over our faces.”

Kardashian competes in the beauty space — though perhaps with little overlap — with her 20-year-old sister Kylie Jenner, whose own Kylie Cosmetics brand was projected to be a $1 billion business in the next few years. Having seen success with her Crème Contour & Highlighter Kits, Kardashian is looking to expand her brand with Powder Contour & Highlight Kits that will release August 22.
