Kim Kardashian is more than happy as a single woman and is ready to put her marriage to Kanye "Ye" West behind her, an insider revealed. The reality TV star "just wants to move forward with the divorce," the source told PEOPLE.
"There is no way her marriage to Kanye will ever work. She did everything she could for her marriage to work. She is ready to move on," the source said. "She considers herself single. She focuses on her kids and work. She has so many things that she is grateful for."
Though the 44-year-old rapper "still makes promises and pleas for her to take him back," Kardashian, 41, is "very happy and comfortable being single," added the source.
Meanwhile, another source revealed that Kardashian, who has four kids with Kanye, realized the marriage wouldn't work a long time ago, and is now in a good place. "She's really happy and in a great place again and it took a while to get there. She wants to go out and have fun and she finally feels light and free," the insider revealed. "This will be a huge weight lifted off her shoulder. She would never want to hurt Kanye."
But, even though it was Kardashian who wanted to proceed with the divorce, the source revealed she still looks at her and Ye as a brand, given how they both are involved in a lot of ventures together. "They still have so many businesses tied together. She respects and values his opinion on things," the insider adds.
Another source revealed that Kardashian "knows where Kanye's head is," but "ignores it," as per PEOPLE. "She isn't surprised that he pleads in public for her to run back to him. She is just trying to be respectful about it," said the insider.
However, Kardashian has made it a point to maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship with the father of her four children. "Co-parenting and making sure her kids are happy will always be her priority."
Kardashian and West began dating in 2012. They exchanged vows in 2014, before filing for divorce in February 2021. The duo share daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 3½, as well as sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2½.
