There was one Twitter user who said that Kardashian was problematic but the reality star’s action was praiseworthy.
Doubtless, Kim has been problematic but her taking on mass incarceration, & then making a documentary about it indisputably is praiseworthy.

The documentary show, “Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project,” featured the “KUWTK” star’s quest to fight for criminal justice reform in the U.S. The show introduced four inmates, namely: Dawn Jackson, Alexis Martin, David Sheppard and Momolu Stewart, who are currently serving; however, Kardashian believed that these were unjust sentences, Metro UK reported.

Kardashian reportedly hopes to “humanize” her subjects and enlighten others of their capability for reform by giving “more context” to their stories and presenting the events that led up to their persecution.
Yes, Stewart was freed on parole. This was after Kardashian, through a letter, supported his release following a 23-year service in prison, Daily Mail reported.

Thank you to @KimKardashian @oxygen the documentary crew and her current attorney Jen Kinsley. This needs to be the ground swell that gets her out of prison. She will be an asset to the system if we can free her and let her potential shine. #kkwthejusticeproject#freealexismartin

Notably, Kardashian lobbied for the release of Alice Marie Johnson. Johnson was granted clemency by the U.S. President Donald Trump because of Kardashian’s efforts. Johnson once had a promising career, unfortunately, she got addicted to gambling and was sentenced to life for a non-violent drug offense, USA Today reported.
Kardashian is reportedly working with #Cut50, a bipartisan effort to reduce crime and incarceration across all 50 states in the U.S. As part of the strategies in line with criminal justice reform advocacy, Kardashian consults with different inmates, lawyers and judges, apart from getting involve with the actual policy work, E! News reported.
.@KimKardashian thank you for continuously uplifting the voices impacted by our criminal justice system. Together, we have seen thousands return home to their communities. Weโre grateful that youโre using your platform for change. #KKWTheJusticeProject

In the documentary, Kardashian clarified that she believes in punishment. Somehow, she believes that there are amazing people behind bars who don’t deserve for their lives to be thrown away because of the circumstances faced or their living condition which led them to make such decisions.
