Kim Kardashian Recalls 'Closet Makeover' That Made Her Cry

On Memorial Day, reality TV star Kim Kardashian was the special guest on the talk show “Live With Kelly and Michael.” The interview aired just a day after her first wedding anniversary with Kanye West. She revealed that her husband made her cry after he gave her a closet makeover and asked her to get rid of a pile of shoes.

Kim told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that early in their relationship, Kanye came over with stylist Renelou Pandora. He wanted to give her a closet makeover and give her style advice. Parts of the closet makeover were seen on an episode of “Keepinig Up With the Kardashians” that aired in 2012. E! Online shared a short clip from the episode showing Kim, Kanye and the stylist as they were just starting to go through the closet.

The 34-year-old reality star revealed that after Kanye and the stylist sorted through her belongings, they ended up with a large pile of shoes that they wanted her to discard. She says that she ended up crying when she saw all of the rejected items.

There was also a large number of handbags and clothes that were filtered out from her closet. However, it was the pile of shoes that really affected Kim.

“I can't get rid of this stuff. Your stylist has no idea what she's talking about,” Kim told Kanye. She says that she refused to get rid of her shoes despite saying that she trusts Kanye’s style opinions.

Later in the episode, Kim even got a second opinion from her sister Khloe. She showed Khloe the pile of rejected shoes and Khloe declared her love for the rejects. Kim told her that Kanye called the shoes “ghetto” to which Khloe responded: “You’ve gotta have a little ghetto in your life.”

Kim admitted to Kelly and Michael that despite her initial resistance, she eventually got rid of most of her old stuff. She says that her style has evolved over the years and her husband still styles her and picks out her outfits. After Kanye cleared out her closet, the upside is that he filled it back up with designer clothes. Kim says that his design choices made her fall in love with fashion.
