Kim Kardashian has revealed that she realized she "arrived in high society" when she was with her now-ex-husband Kanye West.
In her new Interview Magazine cover story interview, the 41-year-old Skims founder, who filed for divorce from West last year, opened up about how her relationship with the 45-year-old rapper impacted her fame and earned her a "different level of respect" in her career.
"I mean, when I was with Kanye, and he was introducing me to a lot of people, I think that definitely got a lot of people to have a different level of respect," Kardashian told Interview editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg for the magazine's September 2022 American Dream issue.
But Kardashian said that her relationship with West was not the only thing that helped her gain respect and recognition.
"I've also seen a s--- more recently — going to law school, just doing what I want and becoming my own person and people seeing that and respecting that. There [are] levels to it," she told Ottenberg.
The beauty mogul also shared that she no longer gets starstruck when meeting celebrities, explaining, "Everyone is normal now."
Kardashian and West went public with their relationship in 2012, just months after she filed for divorce from her ex-husband, former NBA player Kris Humphries. At the time, West released a song called "Cold," in which he raps about being in love with the reality star while she was still married to the athlete.
After Kardashian and Humphries finalized their divorce in 2013, she and West tied the knot in an extravagant ceremony in Florence, Italy, in front of their closest friends and family in 2014.
After almost seven years of marriage and four children together — 9-year-old North, 6-year-old Saint, 4-year-old Chicago and 3-year-old Psalm — Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021. They were declared legally single this March.
She went on to date Pete Davidson, but she and the "Saturday Night Live" alum broke up in August after nine months of dating.
In her cover story interview, Kardashian shared some of her current projects and plans, which apparently include shooting content for her skincare brand Skkn, recording episodes for her new true crime podcast on Spotify "The System," doing voiceovers for the new "Paw Patrol" movie and studying for law school — in addition to running her businesses.
Asked if she has "anything left to prove" at this point, the reality star told Ottenberg, "I think I'll always feel like I have something to prove. Even if it's just to myself. My next big thing is just finishing law school because I'm halfway there."
