Kim Kardashian Says Surrogacy Is 'So Much Harder' Than Pregnancy

Kim Kardashian, who is expecting her third child with husband Kanye West by surrogate, has opened up about the challenges of the process in a new interview. The KKW Beauty founder has spoken extensively about the difficulties she had with her first two pregnancies but has said that she would have preferred to become pregnant again. According to Kardashian, surrogacy is more difficult.

“Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control,” Kardashian told Entertainment Tonight of surrogacy in an interview published Tuesday. “And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still ... knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it's hard for me. So, it's definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

The star is unable to become pregnant even after undergoing a number of procedures to see if it would be possible.

“I hated being pregnant and I never thought I'd ever ... I thought this was going to be so easy, but you know, even in how much I hated it, if I could do it myself I would have preferred that,” she said. “So, that inner struggle is kind of hard, but I am just rolling with it and it is what it is.”

Kardashian has two children with husband Kanye West: 4-year-old daughter North West and 1-year-old son Saint West. The 37-year-old star previously wrote about her complicated breech pregnancy with her youngest child on her blog.

“I'm writing this blog while up at 4 A.M., a little anxious for my delivery as I'm entering into my 36th week of pregnancy,” Kardashian wrote in November 2015 ahead of her son’s birth. “I've surrendered to the placenta issues and actually haven't been thinking too deeply about them lately. However, my latest concern is that my baby is breech, meaning he's in the wrong position for childbirth. His head is still up and it's supposed to be down. He was supposed to turn by 32 weeks.”

Kardashian was ultimately able to give birth to Saint West naturally but will not be able to become pregnant again.
