Kim Kardashian Sports Draco Malfoy Platinum Blond Hair At Balmain's PFW Show; Twitter Memes Explode [PHOTOS]
Kim Kardashian just proved what everyone already suspected: She’s in Slytherin with Draco Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle. OK, that’s just a “Harry Potter” joke, but the Twitterverse erupted Thursday when the normally chic fashionista showed up to Balmain’s Paris Fashion Week show with a hairdo that resembled Tom Felton's character a little too much.
Marsala might have been named the color of the year, but platinum has been dubbed the color of spring. Unfortunately for Kardashian, 34, “Dallas Buyers Club” star Jared Leto also revealed the same dye job on the same day. Between matching the Oscar-winner and bearing a striking resemblance to Felton’s famous character, it was almost too much for the Internet to handle.
No matter what netizens had to say, Kardashian didn’t address the negative feedback. Instead, she posted a mirror selfie -- in typical Kardashian fashion-- and then thanked makeup artists Joyce Bonelli for being her “inspiration.”
She shared two more pictures of her new look. One simply said “Blonde at Balmain” and another was with her husband and mother. “So lucky to have these fun new memories in Paris,” she said.
So where did she get this crazy idea to go platinum blond? If people want to point a finger, it could be at Kanye West. The rapper apparently loves lighter locks. “He asked if I would ever go back to blond. I was like, 'Not right after a baby, because my face was so swollen and it looked like my lips were huge. My face was just off,’ ” she told People magazine last year.
If this is true, it could be embarrassing for Kardashian. It was reportedly West’s idea for the reality star to pose for Jean-Paul Goude, just like he had ex-fiancée Amber Rose do. For those who are familiar with Rose, she also has platinum blond hair. Coincidence much?
When it comes to trolls, it doesn’t take much for Kardashian to set them off. So when something jaw-dropping happened, like her crazy hair Thursday, a bounty of memes flooded the Web. Some responses are listed below. Check them out:
