Kim Kardashian Steps Closer To Becoming A Lawyer, Announces She Passed The 'Baby Bar' Exam
Reality T.V Star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has been working on getting a law degree. She announced on Monday that she has passed the “baby bar” exam, also known as the “First-Year Law Students’ Examination."
Kardashian, 41, is taking an alternate path allowed in California to achieve a lawyer status by completing a method known as “reading the law,” which refers to apprenticing with a practicing lawyer or judge.
The announcement was made via an Instagram post where Kardashian described her experience of getting to this point and her aspirations of becoming a lawyer.
“In California, the way I’m studying law you need to take 2 bar exams, this was just the first one but with the harder pass rate. I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route but it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals,” Kardashian said.
The California State Bar website states that this exam must be completed by “ law students completing their first year of law study in a juris doctor degree program at a State Bar-unaccredited registered law school, through the Law Office Study Program,” the website read.
Along with, “those without two years of college work attending a Committee of Bar Examiners- or an American Bar Association-accredited law school must take the First-Year Law Students' Exam after completing their first year of law study,” it added.
Kardashian explained in the post that it has taken her two years and failing the baby bar three times to get to a passing point.
“For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me. I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I’m not making excuses),” Kardashian said.
