Kim Kardashian opened up about her relationship with Kanye West and how she’s evolved over the course of a decade. As we end the 2010 decade, Kardashian explains that her style, notably, has changed quite a bit. The reality TV star, now a mother and businesswoman, has toned down the “sexy” quite a bit.

In an interview with New York Magazine, Kardashian addressed the fact that her husband’s newfound religious and spiritual appreciation may have played a part in her decision to “dress less sexy.”

In an episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," the couple clashed over Kardashian’s form-fitting Met Ball gown. The rapper said that it was too sexy.

"I just feel like I just went through this transition of being rapper and lookin' at all these girls, looking at my wife, like, 'Oh my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing her body off'… and I didn't realize that that was affecting like my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved," he said during the confrontation the night before the event. Ultimately, Kardashian wore the dress anyway.

“I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that. I listen to him and understand him,” Kardashian said in the interview. However, the decision was her own, she explained as she continued: “Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want. But I have kind of had this awakening myself.”

Kardashian is also working on becoming a lawyer, carrying on her father’s legacy. Her focus would be on criminal justice reform.

Kardashian has spent some time visiting the White House on several occasions to speak with Donald Trump about pardoning allegedly falsely imprisoned Rodney Reed. She also spoke to him about officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide as something that actually happened, something no other U.S. president has done yet.

She mentioned that getting into politics has had something to do with her decision to dress more modestly: “I also did think, like, 'Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie.' And I was thinking, 'I hope they don’t see this.' I have to go back there next week.”

As Kardashian moves on into the new decade, she vows to dress less sexy, not just for her husband but for her professional career moving forward.
