Kim Kardashian's 'Wet, Dripping' Met Gala Dress Took 8 Months To Make

Kim Kardashian West attended the 2019 Met Gala with her husband Kanye West. The reality star looked stunning in a “wet” look dress that was designed by the French fashion designer Thierry Mugler. What is significant about the dress is that this is the first time in 20 years that Mugler has worked on a design for House of Mugler.

In an interview with Vogue at the Met Gala, Kardashian West explained that the designer wanted to envision her as a “California girl stepping out of the ocean...wet, dripping.” The reality TV star also had a wet hairstyle to complement the dress. The dress apparently took about eight months to make, and Kardashian said that it was “such an honor” to get a chance to wear it.

Mugler dresses have been a favorite for Kardashian lately. Earlier this year she told People that she chose Mugler dresses because they come with a “full vision” that include the hair as well as the nails that form a part of the look of the dress. “His runway shows were the most legendary and iconic runway shows ever,” she said about the French fashion designer.

Kardashian is expecting her fourth child through a surrogate this month. The reality TV star said that she heard rumors about the baby coming on the day of the 2019 Met Gala, but she confirmed that that is not happening. She pointed out that she wouldn’t be there at the event if her baby was coming that day.

Kardashian West wasn’t the only one from her family at the 2019 Met Gala. She was joined by her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, and their mother Kris Jenner. Travis Scott also accompanied his girlfriend Kylie at the event, USA Today reported. All the family members made their debut at the event minutes apart from each other.
