Kimye VS. Chad Hurley: See Why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Are Suing The YouTube Co-Founder [FULL VIDEO]
Although it may seem typical for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to parade their lives around to the public, some things really are better kept private. According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye are suing the man who allegedly leaked Kanye’s marriage proposal to a video-sharing site. The man under fire just so happens to be YouTube co-founder, Chad Hurley. The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, claims that Hurley is the one who posted the video on his new website, MixBit.
Kim and Kanye didn’t stop there. Their lawyer, Eric George, filed the lawsuit under the claim that Hurley posted the video and then tweeted about it to nearly a million followers. According to TMZ Kim and Kanye went after Hurley’s reputation as well, claiming the he was desperate to find a “second act” after several of his post-YouTube ventures failed.
The lawsuit came after Hurley allegedly crashed the party where the proposal happened, but Kim and Kanye let him stay after he signed a confidentiality agreement. To solidify their argument even further, the couple got a picture of Hurley holding the signed agreement and attached it to the lawsuit.
TMZ also confirms that the couple said, “Hurley proceeded to try to turn the event into one starring himself, broadcasting the images he knew were the exclusive property of someone else.” They are suing for unspecified damages including punitives.
According to the New York Post's Page Six, the video was supposed to be given to M C Cable Television, a subsidiary of Bunim/Murray and E!, the network that produces and airs “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The picture of the filed claim can he found here.
