Kirstie Alley Died At Home, Cremated: Death Certificate Reveals

New details about Kirstie Alley's death and funeral surfaced this week.

On Thursday, the actress' death certificate obtained by Us Weekly revealed that she died at her home in Clearwater, Florida. She was 71.

Following her demise on Dec. 5, Alley was cremated. However, it was not clear where her ashes were kept.

Before her death, the "Cheers" alum had been diagnosed with colon cancer and even received treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

The Hollywood star's adult children with ex-husband Parker Stevenson, William True Stevenson and Lillie Stevenson, announced her death via her Instagram account.

"To all our friends, far and wide around the world... We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered," they captioned a snap of Alley posing with a bicycle.

"She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as he was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother," they added.

Tributes poured in from her fans and former co-stars following the announcement.

In a statement to Deadline, her "Cheers" co-star Kelsey Grammer said, "I always believed grief for a public figure is a private matter, but I will say I loved her."

John Travolta, who starred with her in the "Look Who's Talking" movies, took to Instagram to share a photo of the late actress. He then dedicated a message for her in the caption.

"Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I've ever had. I love you, Kirstie. I know we will see each other again," he wrote.

Denise Richards, who got to play her onscreen daughter in the film "Drop Dead Gorgeous," expressed how "lucky" she was for the opportunity to work with Alley.

"Kirstie is one of the funniest, nicest & strongest women I've ever met. I am so lucky & grateful that I got to do a movie with her playing my mom," she wrote on Instagram.

Alley first rose to fame when she starred as Rebecca Howe on NBC's "Cheers" in 1987. She earned a Golden Globe for best actress and an Emmy for outstanding lead actress for her portrayal of the character in 1991, as per People.

Alley went on to star in many TV shows and films, including "Veronica's Closet," "Fat Actress," "It Takes Two," "Summer School" and "Scream Queens," among many others.
