For classic rock fans, a dream came true on Tuesday when KISS and Motley Crue announced their upcoming Summer 2012 tour, with a full list of 40 dates around the U.S. calling the concerts, The Tour.

These guys are the baddest band in the f-king world, Vince Neil of Motley Crue told Billboard. Our very first tour was with Kiss, 1982. To be able to do it now is amazing.

This will be The Tour, that's what we're calling it, The Tour, Paul Stanley of KISS told Billboard. You will be deaf and blinded, you will leave there stumbling out in the 90-minute sets.

Rihanna fans, however, may not be as excited as KISS front man Gene Simmons blasted Rihanna in the process during the press conference.

We're sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them, Simmons said, according to Billboard. No fake bulls--t. Leave that to the Rihanna, Shmianna and anyone who ends their name with an 'A.'

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee shared sentiments with Simmons.

No disrespect to Rihanna, she's a great singer, but we're in a slump for some s--t that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that's floating around out there, Lee told Billboard. I'm glad he said that actually because I don't think I can bear watching another f--king award show that is just a little bit better than 'American Idol.' It's f--king pathetic to watch people go out and f**king karaoke with a bunch of lights and video. It's all completely watered down.

Aside from blasting Rihanna, KISS and Motley Crue members reminisced about their 80's tour days.

I remember, I wanted to see what they really looked like, Tommy Lee said of KISS without makeup. They had bandanas, wrapped around, so we never really saw what they looked like, the whole tour. That was a big thing for me.

I still wonder that, KISS drummer Eric Singer said.

The Tour kicks off July 20 in Bristow, Va. and runs through the summer. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 23 through Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
