Kissing Booth 3: Joey King And Jacob Ellordi Celebrate 'End Of An Era' With Throwback Pics
A journey that began in 2018 came to a glorious end with the release of “The Kissing Booth 3” on Netflix. To mark the release of the final installment of the movie, Joey King and Jacob Ellordi paid a heartfelt tribute to the teen romantic comedy.
After the movie dropped on the streaming service Wednesday, Ellordi posted a series of snaps on his Instagram Story with his “The Kissing Booth co-stars including Joel Courtney, Joshua Eady and ex-girlfriend King.
Sharing the most-loved moment from the first installment of the movie showing him and King right after their first on-screen kiss, the 24-year-old actor captioned the post, “And one from the start @joeyking.” He continued, “Thank you all of you,” alongside a red heart emoji.
Following her on-screen boyfriend’s footsteps, Joey King also took a walk down the memory lane and shared two photos from the set which she captioned “My first time at the booth and my last time. 5 years apart.”
“Thank you, Elle, I’ve loved being you. And thank you to everyone who had a hand in making these movies what they are. The Kissing Booth 3 is now streaming on Netlfix. ❤ The end of an era, excuse me while I go sob in a corner somewhere.”
King also tagged her costars including Elordi, leaving their fans to believe there's no bad blood between the exes.
King and Ellordi first met on the set of the first flick and soon there were rumors of the two dating.
In 2018, the 22-year-old actress told Seventeen after the first month of the shoot there was “one moment that made her realize she liked her co-star.”
“When we first met, me, him, and Joel went out to dinner and we had the best, most fun night ever,” she told the magazine. “By the end of dinner, we had like six inside jokes. We were so close and throughout filming, I was just best friends with Jacob. I guess there was no moment, but I feel like the friendship kind of naturally was like, ‘Oh hey, this person is super frickin’ awesome. We have so much in common and we really love spending time together. Maybe there’s something more there.’ … We were open books with each other. There was nothing we wouldn’t talk about. He’s just so great. After the first month, I was like, ‘Hmm, I think I like him.’”
As their reel-life romance kept going strong through the next two movies, their real-life romance faded in November 2018.
