Knicks end six-game slide with win over Wizards
Amare Stoudemire scored 30 points and the New York Knicks pulled away in the closing stages to end a six-game losing steak with a 115-106 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday.
With the game tied at 95-95 in the fourth, New York scored six straight points then quickly pushed their lead to 11 on jump shots from Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler.
Chandler finished with 25 points while Knicks point guard Raymond Felton had 17 and 15 assists to keep Washington winless on the road this season at 0-21.
Nick Young led the Wizards with 22 points and 2010 number one draft pick John Wall put up 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the defeat.
Washington (13-30) was coming off a win over the Boston Celtics on Saturday, but lost for the third time in four games.
The Knicks (23-21) ended their slump and got their first victory in nearly two weeks.
