Kobe Bryant first athlete to leave prints at Grauman's Chinese Theater
Kobe Bryant is taking Los Angeles by storm. The L.A. Lakers star was the first athlete to receive his own hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
The 32-year-old basketball star, who has led the Lakers to five NBA championships, was joined by his wife Vanessa Bryant and his two daughters, Natalie and Gianna.
Bryant, who is the first non-actor to receive his own spot as it is usually reserved for stars in entertainment, was all smiles and laughing while imprinting the sidewalk with his hands and feet.
I feel like I've grown up in this city, and we've had a lot of ups and downs, but there we are -- five championships, plenty of more to go, and I just feel extremely honored to be able to do this, said Bryant at the ceremony.
I love being in L.A., I love the Lakers, and more championships to come.
This is the second honor Bryant received over the weekend, as he was also named the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP.
