Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that she decided to leave the hit reality TV series “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” due to the “toxic environment” of the show.

The 41-year-old reality TV star took the drastic step of leaving the show earlier this year after over a decade of being a part of it. Speaking in an interview with Vogue Arabia, Kourtney admitted that she was feeling quite “unfulfilled” while doing the series and hated how her privacy was being violated during the shoot.

The entrepreneur further stated that the show became a “toxic environment” for her and she did not want it to “occupy” her life.

“I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years. I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was. Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard,” Kourtney told the publication.

Later in the interview, she also quashed the rumors that she does not want to work and said that she is just putting her energy into the things that make her happy.

“People have this misconception that I don't want to work, which is not true. I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy,” Kourtney told the media outlet.

In one of the episodes that aired in April 2020, there was a major fight between Kim Kardashian-West and her older sister. The two had a brawl because of Kourtney's “work ethic” and they ended up punching, kicking, and slapping each other. Although Khole Kardashian, who was also present at the scene, broke the fight, the Kardashian sisters were seen hurling some pretty rough words at each other.

At the time, Kourtney tweeted that she wants to put her focus on her kids and her brand, Poosh.

“I realize that a lot of the conversation right now surrounds my work ethic, and I feel like I need to just make one thing clear: raising children is a job as well. In fact, it's the hardest and most rewarding job that I have ever had. I don't judge anyone who chooses a different route, and I hope that everyone can appreciate my choices as well. With love, Kourt,” she wrote on Twitter in April.

The series of tweets was taken as a sign that she’s ready to leave the show.
