Kristen Stewart's Elle Cover Mystery: Her Best Magazine Covers Through The Years

It was announced this week that Breaking Dawn; Part 2 star Kristen Stewart would be next month's Elle UK covergirl. But when a photo of the cover leaked online, the mag's reps revealed it to be a fake. Then reports surfaced that cover image, featuring Stewart in a slinky black top, was not necessarily fake but simply not the UK issue. We're so confused! Luckily the good folks over at E! have become detectives and are working round the clock to uncover (no pun intended) the mystery. Here's what they've come up with so far:

Remember, Elle U.K. announced Kristen as their cover girl two months in advance, revealed a sneak peak of the photo shoot and even launched a #KristenElle Twitter campaign to promote the mag which became a top trending topic. But Elle U.S. has been awfully cagey about Kristen thus far and only a few fashion reporters confirmed via Twitter that she will indeed star as the U.S. cover girl as well.

Rumor has it that the US version may have spelled her name wrong and that's why they're been so quiet on the matter. Nonetheless, this enigmatic situation is right up there with the Roswell crash of 1947. Will we ever know the truth? The answer is yes, in about two months time we'll simply have to glance at a newsstand and all will be right with the world again.
