The former bad girl from “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” shared that she also chose to have an epidural.
When she went into labor, her fiancé Jay Cutler was still away, training at a Chicago Bears camp where he was prepping for the current football season.
But when the socialite woke up at 4 a.m. with what she thought were contractions, she instantly got in contact with her fiancé.
“I texted Jay and he happened to be awake and he said, ‘I’m coming home!’” she told People magazine, recalling the moment.
Cavallari, 25, called her doctor soon after, but the physician explained that it was a false labor.
“We went for a walk and I could get through the pains,” she explained to the magazine. “I said, ‘Ouch this really hurts,’ but I was kind of laughing through them. My doctor was like, ‘Trust me, you’ll know when it’s the real deal!’”
It wasn’t too long until she found out what real labor felt like.
When Cutler, 29, reunited with his fiancé later in the afternoon after football practice was over, Cavallari explained that she was ready to be taken to the hospital.
Cavallari went through 10 hours of labor and pushed for 20 minutes before her first son, Camden Jack, was born into the world at 2 a.m. on Aug. 8.
"The pain was like nothing I’ve ever experienced,” the 25-year-old told. “It was so painful but a different kind of pain — because I knew we were going to meet our son. It was worth every minute and I’ll do it again.”
