Wedding bells can be heard for former reality TV star Kristin Cavallari and NFL quarterback Jay Cutler.

People.com is reporting that the Chicago Bears quarterback proposed to Cavallari over the weekend during their getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

He surprised her with a quick trip to Cabo to ask her to marry him. He had asked her dad for permission, a source tells People.

A source told US Weekly that Cavallari is very excited and completely blind-sided.

They've been celebrating all weekend; Kristin told her girlfriends; Kristin told her girlfriends on Monday.

Cavallari is famous for her appearances in MTV's reality television shows Laguna Beach and The Hills. She and the 27-year-old Chicago Bears quarterback have been dating since last fall. They were introduced to each other through E! News host Giuliana Rancic.

Earlier in the year in an interview with People, the 24-year-old reality star said I'm in love, and it's been great.
