DC fans are just three months away from the much-anticipated premiere of Syfy’s “Krypton.”

The network recently confirmed to KryptonSite that the Superman prequel series starring Cameron Cuffe in the lead role is set to bow in March 2018.

Syfy also released an updated description for the series, which teases the time-travel element of the show.

“Set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet, ‘Krypton’ follows Seg-El (Cuffe), the legendary Man of Steel’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed. With Krypton’s leadership in disarray, Seg-El encounters Earthly time-traveler Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) who warns he’s under the clock to save his beloved world from chaos. Fighting to redeem his family’s honor and protect the ones he loves, Seg is also faced with a life and death conflict — save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson.”

During the show’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, DC Comics boss Geoff Johns revealed (via SYFY WIRE) that Adam is actually from the future. That interesting detail was made public when Johns recited the character’s first lines after his arrival on Krypton: “I’m from a planet called Earth. My name is Adam Strange. I come from a time long after this, and I need you to help me save the legacy of your grandson [Superman].”

News of Adam’s addition to the show surprised a lot of fans, as the character isn’t really part of the Superman canon. But as explained by executive producer David S. Goyer last July, they decided to add unexpected characters to the series to make it more exciting for the viewers, particularly for DC fans who already know the ins and outs of the Man of Steel’s home planet.

“‘Krypton’ features a lot of other characters from the Superman canon, some of which have been linked to Krypton before, some of which haven’t,” Goyer told Den of Geek at the time. “There are also some other DC Universe characters that aren’t specifically part of the Superman canon that will play a role. We’re definitely doing some things that I think people won’t expect. We’re making some unexpected additions to this Superman world that I’m excited for audiences to see.”
