Kunimasa Suzuki Named Sony’s New Deputy President
Sony on Friday named Kunimasa Suzuki as the new head the Strategy Planning and Product Planning divisions of SCEI, and will report and assist Kaz Hirai in managing the operations of the PlayStation in overall business.
It chooses Suzuki as the new Representative Director, Deputy President of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc in addition to his current role as SVO, Deputy President Networked Products & Services Group and Sony Corporation.
Kunimasa Suzuki said, I'm determined to maximize my contribution to accelerating the expansion of the PlayStation business, one of Sony's core categories, and at the same time play an active role in linking the consumer electronics and PlayStation teams to strategically fuse both businesses and create new and truly unique Sony user experiences.
Recently, he served as EVP, Sony Electronics Inc. in the United States in April 2008 to March 2009 and lately assumed the position of Deputy President, NPSG.
In 1984, Suzuki joined Sony Corporation and was assigned to the Overseas Marketing Division in Saudi Arabia and the United States and he was appointed General Manager, Global VAIO Direct Company, Sony, In 1999 March 2007.
