  • Contracts of Pogba and Lingard at Man Utd will come to an end in 2022 summer
  • PSG are set to lose Mbappe for free in the coming months
  • With less than 6 months left at Liverpool, Divock Origi is linked to Newcastle

With the January transfer window less than a day away, all eyes are on a few star soccer players whose contracts are due to end in the summer of 2022.

Players like Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba have less than six months left on their contracts and will be allowed to begin negotiations with foreign clubs from Jan. 1.

Both Mbappe and Pogba have not signed a contract extension yet and are most likely expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester United respectively. In fact, the Red Devils are on the verge of losing two talented players for free.

Apart from Pogba, forward Jesse Lingard is also going to be without a contract at the end of the 2021-22 campaign. The Englishman is believed to have decided to leave as he is on the lookout for regular game time.

Here is a list of seven star players who could sign a pre-contract during the 2022 January transfer window:

Divock Origi

Fondly called the ‘Liverpool Legend’, Origi has less than six months left on his contract. He has scored some of the best injury-time winners for Liverpool and was a crucial part of the Reds’ Champions League victory in the 2018-19 season. One of the clubs that are interested in signing Origi is Newcastle United.

Paulo Dybala

Juventus striker Dybala, who was once tipped to be the Serie A club’s future, has not signed an extension yet and is all set to be a free agent in the 2022 summer. He is being linked with quite a few European clubs, including Barcelona and Liverpool.

The 28-year-old Argentine, who has been with Juventus since the 2015-16 season, netted over 100 goals in 271 competitive appearances.

Ousmane Dembele

It was reported that following the departure of Lionel Messi, Barcelona had made Dembele’s contract extension a priority. However, the Frenchman has not reached an agreement with the Catalans yet. He is being linked with rival clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard, who has made less than 10 appearances in the Premier League this season, is expected to bid goodbye to Manchester United in the coming days. The 29-year-old forward is expected to sign a pre-contract with another club during the January transfer window.

Antonio Rudiger

Believed to be one of Thomas Tuchel’s favorites at Chelsea, Rudiger is expected to sign a pre-contract with Real Madrid during the upcoming winter market. The center-back decided to leave Chelsea as the club has not met his salary demands.

Paul Pogba

One of the most discussed transfers in recent times is Pogba, who has repeatedly rejected extension offers from Manchester United. The France midfielder has been linked with several top European clubs including Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe, who was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer, is expected to reach a pre-season contract with Los Blancos in January. While PSG could have cashed in on him ahead of the 2021-22 season, the Ligue 1 side is set to lose their $203 million star for free in 2022 summer.
