Kylie Jenner Accused Of Copying Makeup Artist’s Photo For Kylie Cosmetics Campaign

Kylie Jenner and her cosmetics line, Kylie Cosmetics, are in hot water once again.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star is being accused of stealing a campaign concept from makeup artist Vlada Haggerty. In an Instagram post, Haggerty called out Jenner for copying a shoot she and her colleagues did a couple of months ago. “Haven’t you gotten enough ‘inspiration’ from me already?” Haggerty said.

This is not the first time that Haggerty has called out Jenner for supposedly stealing her concepts. In an interview with Refinery29, Haggerty said she was excited at first to see that her melting lipstick photo from 2015 was posted on Jenner’s cosmetic line’s Instagram. She was disappointed, however, that she was not given credit for the photo. At the time of the interview, Haggerty said nobody from Jenner’s camp has tried to reach out to her to sort things out.

Aside from Haggerty, Jenner was also accused of copying YouTuber Shannon Harris. When Jenner released her first Kyshadow eyeshadow palette, many saw how similar it was to Harris’ collaboration with BH Cosmetics, according to Glamour. Harris even posted side-by-side photos of her palette and Jenner’s to Instagram.

While Jenner did not directly discuss the allegations that she copied Harris, she shared a behind-the-scenes photo showing the palette while it was still being conceptualized. The reality star said she had been planning the release of the palette for months and that she only came out with it when she felt that it was already perfect.

Apart from issues of copying other people, Jenner’s cosmetics line has also been in hot water for defective wands in the lip glosses. A blogger also called out the reality star for overpricing her products, according to Seventeen. The blogger said the formula of Jenner’s products is identical to that of ColourPop’s. Jenner’s lip kits retail for $29, while ColourPop’s matte liquid lipsticks sell for only $6 a piece.
