KEY POINTS

  • Kylie Jenner was confronted by anti-fur protesters as she left a luxury store on Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive Saturday
  • Jenner was previously criticized for wearing fur slippers after mourning the animals killed in the Australia wildfires
  • Khloe Kardashian was also called out for her Halloween costume

Kylie Jenner received a verbal beating from animal rights activists Saturday while out shopping on Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive.

The makeup mogul stepped out over the weekend to possibly do some holiday shopping, sporting red hair, a gray puffer jacket and a mask. But after leaving Montcler through the back exit and heading straight to a white Rolls Royce, a group of anti-fur activists surrounded Jenner's vehicle.

Protesters yelled at her using a megaphone, saying, “Shame on you! You're a monster! Shame on you for supporting the fur industry!" TMZ obtained a video of the incident that showed Jenner’s failed attempts to retreat from the scene as the activists also blocked her car.

Insiders close to the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star told the outlet that the protest was already happening down the street while Jenner was shopping. This means they weren’t initially aware that Jenner was there and she wasn’t the target. However, someone allegedly told the anti-fur activists that she was nearby.

Despite not wearing fur at the time of the incident, Jenner was previously criticized by activists for sporting clothes controversially made with animal fur. In January, the 23-year-old received flak for wearing designer slippers with mink fur.

Fueling the outrage was the fact that she shared the photo of the slippers after she mourned the deaths of hundreds of thousands of animals in Australia due to the wildfire in January. After the backlash, Jenner gave $1 million for wildlife relief.

Jenner is hardly the first in the Kardashain-Jenner clan to have drawn the ire of animal rights groups. Khloe Kardashian has also had her fair share of criticism. In January, a fan accused the Good American Jeans founder of wearing fur on Halloween, but she wasn’t having it.

“It's not real fur. But keep spreading your vile hate instead of focusing on real issues. Why must people assume and attack others so quickly?” Kardashian fired back before advising her follower not to attack people.

“But if you choose to waste your energy on attacking a complete stranger, then at least know all of your information prior. Happy 2020,” she added.
