The La Liga games are back and Real Madrid has been in top form, as they remain undefeated ever since the games resumed. The club has been performing well and is only expected to get better with Marco Asensio returning from his injury.

The Spanish national team player was destined to be one of the biggest superstars of Real Madrid with the way he moves on the field. Throughout his career, Asensio has already been perceived as one of the top wingers of the organization. This led to comparisons that Asensio was expected to overtake Eden Hazard’s place as the iconic piece of the club.

While Asensio was well on his way to the top of the team, a devastating knee injury sidelined him for months. The two-time Champions League winner tore his ACL during a pre-season tournament match last July of 2019 against Arsenal.

Despite the major setback, Asensio has proven to Zinedine Zidane and the rest of the Real Madrid faithful that he doesn’t want anything to hold him back. After 10 months of surgery and rehab, the 24-year-old has already shown he’s ready to reach his true potential.

Per The Real Champs, Real Madrid saw a positive performance from Asensio in their win against Valencia last week. The Spanish Super Cup winner only needed 31 seconds to make his impact felt when he scored a decisive goal upon entering the match.

The manner Asensio was moving comfortably showed the trust Zidane and Real Madrid has for him. Things will only get brighter for the star as he’s displayed in the past that he can contribute a lot to the club. Throughout his stay with Los Blancos, he has appeared in 137 matches, scored 28 times and tallied 20 assists.

Given how tightly contested the La Liga season has been, Real Madrid needs all the firepower they could get from their reliable players. The La Liga season is back right where it left off and continues to be a close affair between the best teams. The week has featured a back and forth exchange in the team standings with Real Madrid and Barcelona exchanging positions at the top spot.

It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid moves forward in the remaining games of the season. With players such as Asensio bouncing back for Zidane, the team is looking to end the campaign on a strong note.
